The Los Angeles Department of City Planning invites you to attend an
Environmental Impact Report (EIR) Scoping Meeting
in your area to give public comment on the environment impacts of the proposed Southwest Valley Community Plans Update. The Southwest Valley Community Plans include the Canoga Park-Winnetka-Woodland Hills-West Hills, Encino-Tarzana, and Reseda-West Van Nuys Community Plans.
The Department of City Planning is holding three Scoping Meetings, one in each Community Plan area (please refer to the flyer below for specific dates, times, and locations). Both city staff and the environmental consultants preparing the EIR, including the traffic consultant, will be present at the Scoping Meetings to answer questions.

The Department of City Planning issued the Notice of Preparation (NOP) and notice of public scoping meetings on Thursday, March 28, 2019. The public comment period is open from Thursday, March 28, 2019 to Friday, May 3, 2019. In accordance with CEQA section 15082, this NOP is being circulated for a 30-comment period. The City of Los Angeles requests that written comments be provided at the earliest possible date, but no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2019.

CONCEPTS WORKSHOPS 2018
On June 19, 2017, the Tarzana Neighborhood Council - Land Use and Planning Committee met at the Tarzana Child Care Center at 7:30 p.m to discuss a variety of land use issues. The evening was lively, and it was easy to see how passionate the attendees were about their community. The Valley Community Plan Unit introduced the concept of the Community Plan Update to the public and invited them to attend one of the upcoming public workshops. The Tarzana Land Use Committee emphasized the importance of community attendance at the upcoming Community Plan Update Workshop that will occur on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at the San Fernando Valley Arts and Cultural Center (18312 Oxnard Street in Tarzana).
Concerns were raised from community members regarding preservation of existing single-family neighborhoods and large lots, the potential impacts of increasing density in the neighborhood, and the preservation of potential historic areas in Tarzana. These initial topics ignited conversation regarding future development in Tarzana and will be further discussed at the public workshops. At the workshops, attendees will have the chance to voice their opinions on future policies and goals within their communities and engage with City Planning staff regarding the positive and negative elements of their community. The workshop will be loosely structured around three main themes: housing, commerce, and the public realm. The conversation and discussion continues July 27 in Tarzana.
